The deposition slate included fact witnesses, corporate 30(b)(6) designees, and expert witnesses with advanced credentials. Realtime review was most valuable with the hardest witnesses, where live identification of contradictions enabled targeted follow-up on the spot.
BlueBear marked 183 exhibits, confidential and Bates-stamped, tracking consecutive numbering from witness to witness. That continuity preserved admissibility at trial and fed directly into the team's strategic advantage when the same documents reappeared in the courtroom.
Trial Logistics: The Operational Backbone
When the case moved to Boston, BlueBear built and operated a temporary trial office that matched the functionality of the firms' home offices: secure high-speed networking, dual-monitor workstations, conference rooms configured for remote collaboration, six high-speed printers plus a production copier, and a printer at the courthouse for last-minute revisions.
The workspace was organized into quiet, functional zones by firm and assignment so attorneys could work alone, collaborate in small teams, or gather for witness prep. Downtown parking near the courthouse was limited, costly, and unreliable. BlueBear's graphics team built more than 30 slide presentations across the trial: three openings, thirteen direct examinations, ten crosses, one rebuttal, and three closings, along with multiple timelines and data visualizations translating complex financial and regulatory information into something a jury could follow.
The standout was a central timeline introduced in opening statements and referenced throughout the trial. Split into two scenarios with paired expert-provided line graphs, it concluded with both graphs moving to center and superimposing on one another, giving the jury a single image to hold the competing narratives. The team returned to it again and again as the case unfolded.
New slide requests and revisions are a constant in trial. Turnaround ranged from same-day to overnight to real-time as the case demanded. The graphics team sat on-site precisely to meet those windows. As closing approached, they made a deliberate choice to strip elements so the core data could be enlarged and take center stage.
Hot Seat Presentation: In the Courtroom, in Real Time
Inside the courtroom, BlueBear's hot seat operator ran evidence presentation live, managing exhibits and coordinating with attorneys in real time during witness examinations. When an exam pivoted or a different version of a document was suddenly needed, the right exhibit was on screen without a pause the judge, jury, or opposing counsel would notice.
BlueBear's courtroom support begins before the first witness is ever called. Prior to trial, the team evaluates the courtroom's existing AV setup, confirms that key equipment is functioning properly, and identifies any gaps that could affect the presentation of evidence. When the first day of testimony arrives, there are no surprises.
BlueBear's Kaelan Moore also managed the playback of deposition video testimony, ensuring clips ran cleanly and at the precise points the team had designated in advance. Where exhibits and key records were embedded directly into the deposition clips, they appeared exactly as the trial team had prepared, allowing testimony and supporting documents to be presented as one seamless sequence. That coordination made complex testimony easier for the jury to follow.
